Your Annual Enrollment Period Checklist

The Annual Enrollment Period runs October 15 through December 7 each year. It is the window to review what you have and change it if something better fits — no rush, just a yearly look.

October 15 – December 7

Five things worth checking every year

Most plan surprises come from a change that happened quietly between plan years. These five checks catch the common ones.

Recheck your plan's drug formulary

Confirm every medication you take is still on your plan's list of covered drugs for the coming year, and note whether any of them moved to a different cost tier or picked up a new requirement such as prior authorization.

Confirm your providers are still in-network

Networks change between plan years. Verify that your primary care doctor, your specialists, and your preferred hospital will still participate in the plan for the coming year rather than assuming last year's answer holds.

Read what is changing next year

Your plan sends an annual notice describing changes to premiums, cost sharing, and benefits. Read it against how you actually used the plan this year, not against the plan you signed up for originally.

Compare whether a different plan now fits better

Health, medications, and travel patterns change. A plan that was the right answer two years ago may no longer be, and this window is when you can act on that without waiting for a qualifying event.

Confirm your plan is still being offered

Plans are occasionally discontinued or withdrawn from a county. If yours is not continuing, you will want to choose a replacement during this window rather than after it closes.

To speak with a licensed insurance agent, call (662) 210-2200. TTY: 711.

This checklist is general education, not personalized advice. Whether you are able to make a change, and which changes are available to you, depends on your individual circumstances and the enrollment period you qualify for.

Want a second set of eyes on your plan this fall?

No pressure, no obligation — just a conversation with a licensed insurance agent about the options available to you.
